QBE Syndicate 2999 was established for the 2000 year of account as a wholly aligned corporate syndicate to maximise the capital efficiencies of the underlying sub-syndicates (trading units).
For 2012, Syndicate 2999 comprises four sub-syndicates, aligned to QBE European Operations product based divisional structure.
The Syndicate is led by Ash Bathia, Colin O’Farrell and Jonathan Parry as Joint Active Underwriters as well as being Chief Underwriting Officers for their respective divisions, each of which has the capability of writing on either Lloyd’s or QBE company paper.

Whilst Syndicate 2999 is the primary entity from a Lloyd’s reporting and regulatory perspective, the underlying sub-syndicates retain a high degree of autonomy to determine their underwriting strategies, whilst benefiting from the combined size, strength and capital base of the umbrella syndicate.
Syndicate 2999 is a wholly aligned syndicate, whereby 100% of its capital is provided by QBE Insurance Group.
