The Bristol office has had a QBE presence in the region since 1998 and covers a wide geographical area which includes the major towns and cities:

Prior to National it was the centre for a number of nationally operated broker schemes. The most well known ones include Suttons and OAMPS.

Chris Bevan comments:
‘Having had a presence in the area for more than 10 years we were already well known to many brokers in the area for our expertise in professional indemnity and in underwriting commercial scheme business.

In the latter half of 2008 we built on that capability to include commercial liability, property and motor. In early 2009 we upgraded our Contractors All Risks facility - brokers are seeing real evidence of the change and impact that has been made.

The geographic area is quite diverse with the Welsh marketplace of Cardiff & Swansea to our North West as well as the South West corner of England through to Cornwall. Each of them have their own characteristics.

Bristol has long been recognised as a major insurance company location centre but like most cities has seen many changes recently in the insurance market. Access to local underwriters is a real plus point for brokers and by adding consistency of service with an insurance company that wants to do business is a great asset.

We wish to build on that with all our broker partners through the launch of more product ranges and services.’
