‘I joined QBE in 2010 having spent my recent career working as an insurance broker. I am excited to join QBE in the next phase of our evolution as we develop our proposition in Scotland. We have traditionally had a strong broker connection through our casualty specialism. With the launching of the National distribution proposition we can now offer the major classes of business each with their own specialist underwriting expertise.
Even though with advances of technology geographic distance between the underwriter and the customer should not make any difference and in some cases that is true. However, if we can field a team that has an appetite to do business and access to underwriters with decision making ability and understand the local market place because they work in it day to day then it has to be an advantage we should make the most of.
Bring all those resources together and we have a genuine opportunity to do something different in the local Scottish marketplace.’
